The show FLEXIBLE WALL held at Boan Inn started from the form of the two-story inn building. Lee Sujin says that she got inspired by the sunshine being cast on wall and floor through the window on the second floor. Actually, there are only columns and wall planes left at the aged commercial building with its partitions demolished. Covering with the white banding lines the void of the building – it looked much like a typical obsolete commercial building constructed in 60s or 70s which was being aged and collapsed – might well be reminiscent of the work dressing a wound or preparing a body for burial. In fact, the artist repeated building and demolishing the walls for almost a month in her installation work process. During the period of the show, such work would continue. This project characterized by the continuation of a performative construction and deconstruction like the cycle of life and death with neither beginning nor ending records the experience of artist and building interacted with each other as well as light and its memory.
